About us

The Westwood High School Band Program has consistently demonstrated musical excellence since it was founded in 1981. Students in the band program experience a four year comprehensive music education including participation in the award winning Westwood Warrior Marching Band, consistent UIL Sweepstakes concert band performances, solo and chamber music opportunities, and participation in our nationally recognized Full Orchestra program.
All students participate in the Westwood Warrior Marching Band, the most active and visible aspect of the band program. The Westwood Warrior Marching Band has appeared in performances across the United States in venues such as Orlando, New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Atlanta. The marching band has experienced great success over the years in both UIL and Bands of America competitions, most recently placing as finalists in the Austin and Houston Bands of America contests in the 2019 marching season.

Please Help us This Year

The Westwood Area Band Boosters not only support their 275+ members at Westwood High School, but also provide funding for our feeder middle schools (Canyon Vista MS and Grisham MS) to ensure that all students get an impactful music experience.  Through the financial help of our boosters, our marching band program provides productions full of meaningful content and artistry that are custom created to engage and challenge our band students.
Our goal for this fundraiser is to set our program up for a successful return to competitive marching band for the 2021 Fall Season. Supporting our band is even more important this year as we have lost several fundraising opportunities like hosting a Drum Corps International (DCI) show this past summer, as well as the sale of concessions at Round Rock ISD sporting events. The funds that we raise will help to offset the cost of next year’s show and will help to lower student band fees.  Additionally, the funds will continue to help us provide excellent instruction for all band students and provide quality instruments for their music-making endeavors.

To our grandson James. As a Clarinetist you are no longer one, but part of something big and special. Something that others who yearn to do it might never get a chance to. Therefore, being a clarinetist in a wonderful band now becomes a privilege. You now have a great responsibility, and that is learn all you can from those that came before you so that someday you will pass it on to those who will come after you. Go forth now and keep the music playing. Go Westwood High School Band! Love Grandpa and Grandma Ryan
